Business Insider partnered with Plant-A Insights, an insights and technology company that produces business rankings in cooperation with global media brands, to identify 300 leading management consulting firms in the United States.
The 2026 ranking was based on an extensive study combining desk research with a nationwide survey of more than 25,000 U.S. professionals with direct experience working with management consulting firms. More than 18,000 respondents had recently worked with consulting firms on a project, while more than 7,000 had participated in committees responsible for selecting consulting firms.
Respondents evaluated firms across three primary dimensions, including industry expertise, practice area expertise, and client satisfaction. Client satisfaction incorporated factors including strategic insight and innovation, adaptability and customization, and value for investment.
For practice-area recognition, firms were required to receive a statistically significant number of responses and meet a minimum threshold of excellence among professionals working in the relevant field. ACA met those standards in Regulatory and Compliance, Risk Management, and Sustainability and ESG.
The recognition follows ACA’s recent inclusion in CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026 list in the RegTech category. Together, the honors reflect ACA’s combination of deep regulatory and risk expertise, managed services, and technology designed to help financial services firms navigate complex compliance and risk challenges.

To develop the ranking, Business Insider and Plant-A Insights initially screened more than 15,000 consulting firms, ultimately evaluating approximately 2,200 eligible firms across 15 industries and 14 practice areas. The 300 highest-scoring firms were named among America’s Top Management Consulting Firms 2026.
Plant-A Insights maintains a strict no-pay-to-play policy, with no sponsorships, applications, or paid placements influencing inclusion in the ranking.
